The story of Buddha. A superb album filled with exotic tabla rhythms, flutes and voices from India. Unmissable, superb. If you like Karunesh then you will love this.

I agree with Karin. The uplifting vibration of this amazing album is very suitable for treatments and is infact the most relaxing music I have ever heard. Can't play it enough in my domain. I bumped into this site when i was looking for a similar cd to purchase. I played the samples and read all the comments below which swayed me to buy it. Guy's album is all thats been said and more. IT IS TRULY AMAZING!

As a musician I get to hear a lot of music most of which can pass you by just as quickly as it arrived, however, once in a while a real gem comes along that just immediately grabs your attention and hits a magical spot inside your mind. This is one those albums.

It opens with a sample used by Terry Oldfield on his Spirit of India album (my initial reaction was that this was not a good starting point as it always a negative to hear a sample used in someone else's music, particularly if it is from the same genre), however, initial first impressions aside I let the music continue, and I am just so glad I did.

Instead of sounding like a copy of something by Terry Oldfield, Guy ended up with an album that, in my opinion, BY FAR supasses the Terry Oldfield release. "Gaya of Wisdom" is modern sounding but at the same time keeping true to the new age genre of music making this release attractive to both newcommers to this music scene as well as making itself very likeable to those people who have been enjoying this kind of music for many years.

I love this album and have played it far too many times to count and I like it more and more each time i hear it. I am really excited and eager to hear his next CD as I think Guy could be one of the new and innovative faces in new age music that could be a trend setter as opposed to a trend copier. Good luck Guy and well done.

Every once in a while an unpolished gem lies waiting for the right person to come along and not only find it but to craft and shine the jewel into a pleasing shape. In the music world such a jewel was the story of Buddha and such a man was Guy Sweens.

Gaya Of wisdom is a unique and original album depicting the major mythos of this inspiring tale. As such prepare yourself not only for the journey of enlightenment as represented on the CD but also another journey, one that leads into musical appreciation and perfection.

Considering the depth and spiritual importance of the subject matter I was prepared for something special but what I actually heard still left me in awe.

Those familiar with new age music appreciate how difficult it is to get a wide variety of instruments playing against each other to sound pleasing. Mr Sweens has taken sitar, dulcimer, koto, santur, tampura, malay bunga seruling flute, sakuhachi flute, Indian bass and alto flute, strings, tables, bass guitar, Indian vocals, Tibetan bowls and numerous percussions and created his own definition of audio bliss.

The instruments above combine divinely and the composition of each track uplifts and empowers the listener with each passing melody. I am presently listening to the music for the 4th time and I can still feel the spine tingling appreciation that was present during the first time I pressed play.

This CD sets a high standard in the representation of story to music and in musical arrangement and performance, a standard I truly hope Mr Sweens can maintain throughout his musical career.

It’s a bold statement but if this album is anything to judge by then Guy Sweens will soon be as household a name as Medwyn Goodall Himself.

If your looking for an album to pull at the heart strings, uplift the soul and free the mind then Gaya of Wisdom should be at the top of your list.

An absolutely superb album which reminded me of Terry Oldfield's "Spirit of India" and Midori's "Bali" albums. If you imagine the best bits of both those albums you get the picture. It features outstanding use of samples, wonderful evocative melodies and spot-on instrumentation. This is just possibly the best relase on MG music so far ! Congratulations to MG music on a fantastic release.
