Medwyn has always been a favourite of mine ever since i visted a long gone shop in southampton called Body and Soul. His music is responsible for the way my imagination runs today. I like to pain fantasy pictures and music is ALWAYS the best form of inspiration. He is truly a master in his own right. Its soothing, uplifting, mellow but the undertones hit every emotional spot time after time. I never tire of hearing his music. Whether your into self relaxation, or just easy listening music, its certainly fair to say Medwyn should be in your top 5, at no 1! This man knows eactly how to touch each and every one of us in a different way. All Medwyn's music stirs something inside which opens our imagination to new realms of endless pleasure. I rate him in 3 stages, Innovation, Emotion, and Atmosphere. All 3 stages have been met a multitude of times. Full marks Medwyn! The only worrying thing is how do you better something like this? It will certainly be fun and exciting to see how Medwyn does this in his next project!

Absolutely fantastic! This CD is a permanent fixture in my car. I just love every single track on the CD and am always disappointed when it comes to an end. I would love to hear a sequel to this fantastic CD. But then everything Medwyn does is just fantastic!

In the spirit of the “King Arthur” trilogy and “Dragons Breath “comes a true epic in musical adventure; “Chronicles” is presented as “Lord of the Rings meets Medwyn Goodall” and without a trace of favouritism it is fair to say that if Tolkien had written music instead of books it might just have sounded like this.
Being a huge fan of both epic fantasy and Medwyn’s medieval series of releases I wanted this album to work and knew that I would be slightly biased in presenting it, so I put it to the hardest test known to any creator of fantasy work; It was turned over to three separate groups of people for their unbiased opinions.
Group one, a collective of high fantasy role-players from Bristol University, group 2, a fellowship of fictional writers much like myself and lastly, group 3, a bunch of hardcore hobbit loving LOTR fanatics whom scowled when I told them the title.
These are their findings.
I received an enthusiastic review from the Role-players whom had tested the music with three separate games and found it to be fantastic both in setting the mood for the high points and creating sufficient mirth during the more sombre moments of their drama. It was refreshing and unlike anything they had previously heard or played to, hence I left with orders to return with the other titles in the Medieval and fantasy series so they could try them as well.
The second group bombarded me with more questions than answers but knowing the group and the mentality of those I was speaking with I took their interest as a tremendous compliment to both the music and a composer who continues to push the standard ever higher in his chosen genre. Such questions as “So what is the back story”? and “Would Medwyn mind if we did some fiction based on this”? These and similar questions led me to believe that this offering was truly inspiring as well as entertaining.
So we move onto the 3rd and toughest group, the LOTR fans of both the book and the films. Numerous smiles and nods of appreciation came from the group as their appointed voice gave me their opinions. It’s better to quote Mr Sean Davies directly rather than paraphrase.
“This music or rather the style would have worked wonderfully in the previously released animated versions of Tolkien’s tale, infact if the production crew had been possessed of one tenth the passion and drive that the composer obviously is then they might have even finished the trilogy. The tragedy in this music is not that it is compared to “Lord of The Rings” for which it is more than worthy, but that it does not have a film of it’s own for which it is even more deserving.

I love Chronicles for the same reason I loved the Raiders Of The Lost Ark movies: adventure! Different movements of the music give you the feeling that you are reaching into the unknown, then discovering, then repeating the cycle over again. My imagination runs wild!

An absolutely amazing album - Med has taken his music to new heights. Very film like, it is a perfect soundtrack to the book that comes with the album and will (I'm sure) be amazing with the visuals on the forthcoming DVD. This is Med's Best album so far- by turns classical, light, moving , Celtic ,romantic and dramatic - buy it and be stunned ! : Simply a fantastic unmissable album.

Hey Medwyn. Just wanted to add another sentiment that Chronicles is AWESOME. I'm a big fan of The Lord Of The Rings and really, it feels like you've created a similar kind of world and story. Very excited to see what happens in part 2

Hi Medwyn,
you have delivered onto us another absolutely incredible performance, AGAIN! I am a big fan of lord of the rings and have been since it has been compulsory reading material during my schooling years...:-) Ah...the nostalgia...Chronicles is a unique album allowing the listener to experience a vivid world of imagery and emotion that few mediums could ever hope to achieve. It is a movie that plays out in ones very own mind and is therefore capable of a more personal and intimate connection than a hollywood big budget film could ever hope to realize. Two thumbs and a Toe up for this one Medwyn! Like a fine vintage bordeaux, your music has grown to a dizzying level of complexity and the musical harmony has not suffered any decline and remains unique, refreshing and one-of-a-kind. Bravo bravo bravo my friend.
