Hello to you all. This was the first ever album I purchased
and I am not far of having the Whole Medwyn Goodall Collection. I do a
great deal of Healing work with clients and family, Medwyn's music is with
out a doubt a very important component of my work. My partner and I also
use it when we paint our art pieces. Medwyn you capture the power that is
this planet, Animal Kingdom and our ancestry. Have you ever thought about
coming to Australia for a visit? You would be most welcome. Keep up the
beautiful work. Johan Smit

It’s back to 1991 for the review of Medwyn’s transformational album known both then and now as “Earth Healer”. It affords some amusement that this release wasn’t even originally done on CD but comes from the before time when cassettes still crackled their way through our speakers. Even back then with the inferior audio technologies this album was a landmark in new age music. Now it’s on CD it sounds even better. Oh and the glimpse of a very young Medwyn on the interior cover is worth it’s weight in gold.

The concept behind the music is presented through the imagery of the legendary phoenix and how it can be associated to the enduring state of man. As such we have a varied and multi cultural musical performance which still moves us emotionally almost 15 years from the date of it’s release.

There are 6 tracks in total and just over 45 minutes of music.

So the style is quite eclectic showcasing Mr Goodal’s talents at the time. “Pathfinder” is one of his most immortal tracks and this is the piece that starts the whole CD off. Using every instrument at his disposal Medwyn created a rich tapestry from which we can take small appreciation or be overwhelmed by the vision which went into this composition. I defy anyone not to be tapping your feet and smiling by the end of this one.

The quality he is now so renowned for never diminishes throughout the whole CD and if nothing else it serves to illustrate what fans of his music have known all along.

If it’s a Goodall track it’s going be Good.

A beautiful selection and one I play often. You know those times when you need to 'take five'? Just sit and listen - life comes back on an even keel, very grounding.
