Tribal shamanic drumming with African choirs and spiritual expression from India. The raw energy of real musicians on real ethnic instruments. The sun baking the earth, the dust rising as the ground resonates to a vibrant urgency. Seldom do albums like this come along. Highly original, a fusion of tribal drumming, African choirs, and Indian spiritual expressions.
Medwyn Goodall, a leading artist always endeavouring to re-create himself and Scott Jasper one of the finest UK percussionists, record together for the first time resulting in an album filled with positive shamanic energy.

If you’re not a lover of ethnic rhythms and fierce percussion then stop reading here.
If these things steal your heart and have you drumming the air like there is no tomorrow then clear the stage for one of the most vibrant and uplifting albums in New Age music history.
Medwyn Goodall and Scott Jasper turn themselves loose upon their shared vision of a powerful and involving percussive release and the result is “Tribal Nation”
Pushing Medwyn towards the back of the stage a little lets take a look at Scott Jasper. Scott is a naturally talented musician, a singer and as you will hear, a master of the drums. Scott brings a passion for his instruments to this album and the love he holds for the rhythms he creates is evident in every strike of the drum. Such energy can only serve to draw you into the music and as a result, when blended with Medwyn’s musical excellence, the output of this CD is nothing short of Euphoric.
For the few of us here who may not be familiar with Medwyn Goodall, Medwyn is a living legend of the New Age music industry with album sales in the millions to testify to his brilliance. A master musician of multiple instruments and styles he brings a distinct quality to any project that he has ever worked on. In this instance to compliment the passionate contribution by Scott Jasper Mr Goodall graces us with acoustic guitar, panpipes, vocal samples and his mighty keyboard setup as well as a few percussive pieces of his own.
The pairing of these two artists has resulted in some of the most original and distinctive music that you are likely to hear for the next 3 years. Many will doubtless try to copy the style and will doubtless succeed in wonderful musical achievements along the way, but in order to maintain the quality, passion, drive and sheer exuberance that “Tribal Nation” inspires, Scott and Medwyn will have to share the studio together a few more times. I certainly hope they find they can work together again in the near future.

Received Tribal Nation cd last week and I must say, it is a joy to listen too. I live in Mississippi, so the effects of Hurricane Katrina has left a lot of destruction in her path. This cd was a welcome escape from the real world. I plugged it in to my cd portable and from the first note, I just drifted away....Thanks Medwyn. You are a truly gifted artist!

In my humble opinion the use of the sampled African choir and Indian vocal is inspired and works well, Meds usual wonderful guitars and keyboards are all in place and work well with the added input from Scott Jasper. All in all it's an enjoyable 47 minutes worth of Med goes to Africa and a worthy addition to your Med collection. As a Med fan you can buy this in confidence , it's as you would expect a well produced album.

As a recording artist who has had the privilege of working with Medwyn, I can testify to this: not only are fans getting wonderful music that reaches to the core of their being, but the quality is second to none! He does so many intricate things to make the music wrap itself around the listener. You may know Medwyn as a great New Age song writer and musician, but he is also incredibly skilled in the production, engineering and mixing arenas. Keep it up, Med!
