There is magic and mystery in the alchemy of Tim Wheater’s bittersweet soulful flute playing and David Lord’s achingly beautiful strings. The sounds they create together stir the deepest feelings of the human spirit and aspire to the heights of celestial awakening. Their exquisitely masterful music inspires a sense of serenity, healing and peace. |

Even if you are previous admirers of Tim Wheater and David Lord brace yourself for a truly celestial experience.
“In Unity” pairs these two master musicians together and hands them the strings to our hearts to play with as they have seen fit. Through Tim’s bittersweet flute and David’s achingly beautiful strings we share a vision of serenity, healing and peace.
Over 12 emotionally rich tracks our feelings are guided by the gentle yet persuasive melodies born from the souls of these 2 artists. Each title reflects without pretensions the precise mood of the music that they represent and as such, give a fulfilling and almost otherworldly quality to this entire disc. Such titles as Compassion, Wisdom, Contemplation and Transcendence are all given life as only Tim & David know how.
As may be obvious the music is primarily strings and flute with possibly some keyboard enhanced backing but in all honesty if it’s there it is too subtle to identify conclusively. What is conclusive about the sound of the CD is that these pieces have been performed with an obvious passion not only for the subject matter of each track but with an enlightened knowledge of the artist’s respective instruments. The full range and depth of feeling of both flute and strings has been explored so that we can explore ourselves through this music in the same way.
This CD is not only a tribute to David and Tim’s own creative genius but also a representation of the kind of excellence that MG Music stands for from its very foundations.
For as much as my personal recommendation stands for anything to you, the interested reader, I steak my reputation on the quality of this disc; “In Unity” will stand as one of the great releases of our time and no one should omit this from their collection.

This is singularly the best album I have ever heard in any genre. The beauty is so over-whelming that I forget to breathe! But.....it is even better if you toggle the tracks so it starts with track 4. Try it in this order 4,1,2,3,5,6.... etc
More like this please Tim ( and David of course! )
Thank you for giving so much pleasure.
Blessings
Graham

An exquisite album! If you are looking for 'serenity on-tap' buy this CD. Tim's incredible flute playing and David's beautiful strings combine to transport you to a world of peace and harmony. I play this CD every evening - it is the perfect ending to a busy day! (I should like to give it more than 5 stars!)

Something special... This is the most amazing flute based album I have ever heard. The flute hovers and soars over soothing chords / strings . Imagine the very best moments from Terry Oldfield's early albums or Nigel Shaw then multiply it by two.. unmissable. Possibly the best release by an MG music artist so far!

Fantastic flute music, the tracks come alive while you listen to them with Tim's music touching your very soul. An absolute cert for laying back and relaxing, letting yourself drift with the music. Definitely one of Tim's best so far.
